Occasionally on Windows 10 Machines a Capture installation will show an error configuring the SLPS registry.

(This article assumes you are running a 64bit version of Windows)

Note: You should be running the installation as a local administrator

Usually this means the following registry keys are missing or do not have the correct permissions:

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\SLP Services

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\IdentityTMK

 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KnowledgeLake\KLS

If the keys do not exist create them.

Ensure the permissions are set so administrators have full control and users have read access.

Restart the machine and run the installation again.

If you still receive this error, rename the .ksi file which is extracted to .msi and run the .msi file.

After installation navigate to the installation location (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\KnowledgeLake\Capture) and create a new folder called License.

Run the Knowledgelake Capture application again.

The SLPS registry issue should now be resolved and Knowledgelake Capture should now be operating normally.
