Symptom:

If an import job goes into error state and the following error message is observed in the CS Pro node’s event log:

Worker: Activity Processing failed to load activity scripts with exception: System.Management.Automation.ActionPreferenceStopException: The running command stopped because the preference variable "ErrorActionPreference" or common parameter is set to Stop: The specified module '..\Modules\Upsert.Cmdlet\Upsert.Cmdlet.psd1' was not loaded because no valid module file was found in any module directory.

The ‘Configure Your Working Images’ step also enters the error state.

Cause:

The ‘Insert Into Data Source’ feature/activity has been installed on at least one node on the CS Pro Farm. The other nodes on the Farm do not have this feature install.

Resolution:

Run the following PowerShell commands on the CS Pro node to completely remove the activity from the CS Pro Farm:

cd "C:\Program Files\KnowledgeLake\Core\Worker"

ipmo .\Capture.Core.psd1

Get-ActivityDefinition -name 'Insert Into Data Source' | Remove-ActivityDefinition

Restart the KnowledgeLake Processing Service on all nodes on the CS Pro Farm.

Prevention:

Ensure that the feature/activity is not installed on any of the nodes in the Farm. If running a scripted (PowerShell) install, ensure that the Data Source Insert pack is excluded from the script.
